Buying a kitchen sink

What size sink fits my cabinet?
Pick a sink about 3 inches narrower than the inside of your base cabinet. A 36" cabinet fits a 33" sink, and a 33" cabinet fits a 30" sink. Each product above lists the cabinet it fits.
What does sink gauge mean?
Gauge is the thickness of the steel. Lower numbers are thicker, so a 16-gauge sink is sturdier and quieter than an 18-gauge sink.
Undermount, drop-in or farmhouse?
Undermount sinks mount below stone counters for a clean edge. Drop-in sinks sit on top of the counter and are the easiest replacement. Farmhouse sinks have an exposed front and usually need a cabinet made for them.
What is a workstation sink?
A workstation sink has a ledge inside the bowl that holds a cutting board, colander and drying rack, so you can prep, rinse and dry in one spot.
